Project Background

Some supplier relationships begin with an exhibition booth conversation and a business card. This one did too — but it turned into a business the moment a local hospital tender landed on the distributor’s desk.

The partner in this case is an Indian medical device distributor with years of experience representing a well-known international pathology brand. Its team first met JunTeng Medical at an industry exhibition in China. After roughly six months of communication and one decisive tender project, the two sides signed a cooperation agreement in 2026. The first order covered several automated tissue processors for a hospital project, and additional units have followed since. Today the partnership runs on repeat orders and a scheduled program of online technical training.

This page follows the case in the order the distributor experienced it.

Customer requirement

What The Customer Needed

The distributor was not new to pathology equipment. Having represented an established international brand for years, it knew exactly what a hospital tender document demands. That experience shaped three requirements it would not compromise on.

Decision factors
  1. Performance comparable to established international brands.

A hospital tender specifies throughput, processing functions, and reliability in concrete terms. The distributor needed equipment that could stand beside the international brands it already knew on every specification line, not merely on price.

  2. Complete after-sales support.

A distributor that wins a hospital tender answers to that hospital for years after delivery. Installation, documentation, service response, and spare parts all reflect on the distributor’s own name. The manufacturer behind the bid had to stand behind all of it.

  3. OEM support.

To bid on its own standing, the distributor needed a manufacturer willing to support logo customization and adapt equipment and materials to local requirements. Tender evaluations in the medical device field also look for documented quality management — the framework described in ISO 13485, the internationally recognized quality management standard for medical device manufacturers — so certification and documentation practices were part of the evaluation too. None of these requirements could be confirmed from a price list. They were confirmed over six months of questions, documents, and one live tender project.

Solution and scope

Our Solution And Support

How we worked with the customer

We treated this tender as a joint project, not a transaction.

Work began with the tender documents themselves. We matched the appropriate HT-AP series tissue processor models and assembled the full documentation package — specifications, technical descriptions, and the supporting materials a tender evaluation expects to see.

The following weeks were spent aligning every item against the tender file: delivery schedule, instrument appearance, throughput, processing functions, software usability, logo customization, transport method, payment terms, and distribution policy. Each point was confirmed before anything shipped — nothing in a tender can be left to interpretation after the bid is submitted.

The customer then ordered a demonstration unit. We arranged the logistics and delivered the machine to the designated location on the agreed schedule.

Installation was completed remotely. Our engineers supported the distributor’s team through live video calls, recorded installation guidance, telephone support, and the full maintenance and service manuals. The customer’s own personnel commissioned the machine — a demonstration, in itself, of the service model the partnership would run on.

After installation, the customer asked for one more thing: adjustments to the operating system so the interface matched the working habits of pathology staff in India. We made the changes. The instrument now runs the way the people using it expect it to.

Project journey

How This Project Unfolded

From first contact to running equipment, step by step.

First contact

Exhibition in China

The distributor’s team examined the tissue processors in person at the JunTeng booth.

Evaluation

Six months of communication

Discussions covered technical details, documentation, customization options, service commitments, and cooperation terms. The distributor evaluated JunTeng the way an experienced brand representative evaluates any manufacturer: slowly, with specific questions.

Tender Preparation

The tender project

A local hospital tender gave the evaluation a deadline. We matched models to the tender documents and provided the full documentation package.

Alignment

Line by line

Over the following weeks, every tender item was confirmed with the customer before the order was placed.

First shipment

The demonstration unit

The customer ordered a DEMO unit. Logistics were arranged as agreed, and the machine reached the designated location on schedule.

Installation

Remote commissioning

Video calls, installation video guidance, telephone support, and the service manuals helped the customer complete the installation. After commissioning, we adjusted the operating system to better match how pathology staff in India work.

Hospital approval

Agreement and first volume order

With the machine running to the hospital’s satisfaction, the two sides signed a cooperation agreement in 2026. The first order of several tissue processors followed, with additional units in the months after.

Current stage

Repeat orders and training

Orders continue, alongside a regular schedule of online training in the electrical and mechanical side of the equipment.

Service and support

Support Behind The Project

In this project, service did not begin after the sale. It was part of how the sale was won.

Remote commissioning support.

Live video guidance, recorded installation videos, telephone support, and complete maintenance and service manuals allowed the distributor’s own team to install the demonstration unit without a factory engineer on site.

Software localization.

After installation, we adjusted the operating system to match the operating habits of pathology staff in India. The equipment was already accepted; this change made it familiar.

Scheduled online training.

The partnership now includes regular online training sessions — electrical engineering training and mechanical training — so the distributor’s team can handle installation, maintenance, and support for the equipment it sells.

Direct factory backup.

Behind the distributor’s local team sits the factory’s engineering organization, available when a question goes beyond local training.

Project result

Where The Project Stands

From an exhibition conversation to a signed agreement and repeat orders, this project compressed the full cycle of a distribution partnership into about a year — and proved each stage as it went.

The tender was won and delivered. The demonstration unit was installed by the customer’s own team under remote guidance, then customized to fit the way local pathology staff work. The hospital confirmed the equipment met its expectations. The first volume order followed, then additional units in the months after, alongside a standing training program.

For JunTeng Medical, the value of this case is what it demonstrates to other distributors preparing bids: a tender file can be matched, documented, and delivered against; OEM customization and software localization are available; and a first machine can be installed and supported without flying an engineer across the world.

##What This Case Proves for Other Distributors

This case is written for distributors who see tenders as their market’s main battleground:

Bring a tender file to us, and receive matched models and complete documentation quickly.
Every tender line item can be aligned and confirmed before you bid.
OEM and logo customization are available for distributors building their own market position.
First installations can be completed remotely, with your team on site and our engineers on the line.
Software can be adjusted to the habits of the pathologists who will use it every day.
A tender won on solid ground tends not to be the last order. That is the pattern this case shows.
