Some supplier relationships begin with an order. This one began with a question: which histology equipment manufacturer could support a national business in Russia for the long term?
The partner in this case is a medical device distributor serving the Russian market. Contact started in 2024. Before any commercial order, the distributor’s team visited the JunTeng Medical headquarters and R&D center in Jinan, then the manufacturing facility in Zaozhuang. It purchased demonstration units, worked through product registration in Russia, and sent two of its engineers to train at the Zaozhuang factory for two weeks. Today the distributor buys multiple JunTeng Medical product lines and models on a recurring monthly basis.
This page follows the case in the same order the distributor experienced it.
The distributor was not shopping for a single instrument. It was selecting a manufacturer to build its pathology equipment business around, which changes what a supplier has to demonstrate.
Four concerns shaped the evaluation from the start.
1.R&D depth. Equipment sold today will be serviced and compared against newer models for years. The distributor needed a manufacturer with genuine development capability, not an assembly operation built on other companies’ designs.
2.A complete product line. A national distributor does not want to juggle several suppliers for several instrument families. Installation, service, spare parts, and training all get harder with every additional source.
3.Registration support. Medical devices entering Russia go through a formal registration process involving technical documentation, conformity assessment, and physical units for evaluation. The WHO’s medical device guidance describes what such market entry involves in general terms; the practical weight of it falls on the distributor, and the manufacturer’s cooperation determines how much of it the distributor carries alone.
4.After-sales capability. With a market the size of Russia, the distributor could not plan to fly a foreign engineer to every installation. It needed to build its own service team, which meant the manufacturer had to be willing to train it.
None of these answers can be verified from a quotation. The distributor verified them on site.
##Why the Customer Chose JunTeng
The distributor’s China branch made the first trip to Jinan, to the headquarters and R&D center. The visit covered the engineering organization behind the product lines: the development team, the product structure, and the technical documentation supporting each instrument family. For a decision meant to last years, this was the part that showed whether the products had real technical backing.
The second trip went to the Zaozhuang manufacturing facility. The team walked through production, assembly, and testing for the different product families. The question here was scale: a manufacturer that can produce reliably in volume is different from one that can assemble a few demonstration units on request.
After these visits and a comparison with the other manufacturers under evaluation, the distributor decided to proceed with JunTeng Medical and move into the market entry phase.

##Our Solution & Support
We treated this relationship as a long-term market development project rather than a series of equipment sales.
Work began with product confirmation and demonstration units. The distributor used these units as it started the Russian registration process. On our side, that meant preparing and updating the technical documentation each product line required, keeping information aligned with the registration timeline, and staying responsive as the process moved forward over more than a year.
Once the main registration work was complete, the focus shifted from market entry to service capability. The distributor sent one mechanical engineer and one electrical engineer to the Zaozhuang factory for a two-week training program. They worked alongside our production and service teams, learning the equipment at the level a service engineer needs, covering the mechanical and electrical side of installation, maintenance, and fault handling.
The relationship now runs as a loop: product supply, registration support, technical training, local service, and continuing procurement.

From first contact to running equipment, step by step.
Contact was established in 2024. From the first conversations, the distributor made clear it was evaluating manufacturers for a long-term market, not pricing a single model. Discussions covered product lines, technology, registration, and service.
The distributor’s China branch visited the headquarters and R&D center in Jinan. The focus was development capability, product structure, and the technical support base behind the product lines under consideration.
The team then visited the Zaozhuang facility to see production, assembly, and testing across the product families. This completed the two-part evaluation: development in Jinan, manufacturing in Zaozhuang. After comparing the candidates, the distributor decided to move forward with JunTeng Medical.
The distributor purchased demonstration units and started Russian product registration. This phase ran more than a year and absorbed significant capital, staff time, and coordination. We supplied and updated product and technical documentation as the registration progressed.
With the main market entry work finished, the partnership moved from verification into commercial procurement. The distributor began ordering according to real demand in the Russian market, expanding from the initial products to multiple JunTeng Medical lines and models.
The distributor sent one mechanical engineer and one electrical engineer to the Zaozhuang factory for two weeks of hands-on training, preparing them to handle installation, maintenance, and after-sales support in Russia without depending on the factory for every service call.
The distributor now purchases multiple major product lines and models, with orders arriving on a roughly monthly basis. Specific volumes and commercial terms remain confidential.
In this project, after-sales capability was built before the market grew, not after.
During the registration phase we kept regular communication with the distributor and provided the product and technical documentation each stage required.
The mechanical engineer trained at the Zaozhuang factory, working with the equipment and with our production and service personnel to build the base for installation and maintenance work in Russia.
The electrical engineer trained alongside, covering the control and electrical side of the instruments, the systems a service engineer works on when a machine needs attention.
The training was not a one-off activity. Its purpose was to let the distributor’s own team provide installation, maintenance, and technical support to laboratories and hospitals in Russia, with direct factory backup when needed.

From first contact in 2024 to factory visits, demonstration units, Russian registration, engineer training, and commercial orders, this project followed the full path of a long-term distribution relationship.
The distributor now purchases multiple JunTeng Medical product lines and models on a recurring basis. Through the factory training of its mechanical and electrical engineers, it is building its own service capability in Russia, which means end customers get installation and support from a local team that knows the equipment.
For JunTeng Medical, the value of this case is not the size of any single order. It is that the partnership now covers the whole chain: supplier evaluation, market entry, product supply, and local service support.
